Write emails that sound like you. Only better.

Pick a tone and BetterMail rewrites your draft, right inside Gmail and Outlook.

How it works

Write it rough. Send it right.

  1. Write your draft in Gmail or Outlook

Type it rough and unfinished. Don't worry about tone, typos or structure.

  2. Click the BetterMail icon beside Send

A side panel opens. Choose a tone and a goal, add any instructions, and press Rewrite Email.

  3. Review, then apply

Compare your original with the rewrite, then press Apply to Email. You still send it yourself.

Test it out

Click the BetterMail icon next to Send, choose a tone, and press Rewrite Email. The draft is made up and the rewrites are canned, so nothing is sent anywhere.

In the side panel

  • Tone

Professional, formal, casual, friendly, persuasive, concise or detailed.

  • Goal

Fix typos only, rewrite the whole thing, or polish and refine what you have.

  • Humanizer

Subtle, human or CEO: how much the rewrite sounds like a person talking.

  • Additional instructions

Anything specific, like “keep it concise” or “be sharp”.

Before you send

  • Original and rewritten, side by side

See your draft above the new version, subject included, before anything changes.

  • Apply to Email

One click puts the rewrite into your compose window. Nothing is sent for you.

  • Templates

Save emails you send often and apply them to a draft in one click.

Privacy

Your drafts are yours. Here's what BetterMail handles, and what it won't do.

What it handles

Text you choose to rewrite
Sent to an AI service to produce the new version. It's processed temporarily and not stored long-term.
Basic, anonymous usage
Things like which features get used and error logs, so we can fix bugs and improve the extension.
Sign-in details, if you sign in
Your email address or an authentication identifier.

What it doesn't do

We don't sell your data
No selling, renting or trading personal data. It's shared only to provide the service or when the law requires it.
It doesn't send for you
BetterMail rewrites a draft. You decide whether it goes out.
Uninstall any time
Removing the extension stops it completely.

Questions

Where does BetterMail work?

In Gmail and Outlook on Chrome. A BetterMail icon appears next to the Send button in your compose window and opens the side panel.

Does it send emails for me?

No. It rewrites the draft you wrote. You read it, change it if you like, and press send yourself.

What happens to my email text?

Only text you choose to rewrite is processed, and only to generate the new version. We don't store it long-term and we don't sell your data. The privacy section and policy have the details.

Which tones can I choose?

Professional, formal, casual, friendly, persuasive, concise and detailed. You can also set a goal (fix typos, rewrite, or polish and refine) and add your own instructions.

Will it still sound like me?

That's the aim. The Humanizer setting (subtle, human or CEO) controls how natural the rewrite sounds, and you can always compare it with your original before applying it.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome and other Chromium browsers. Use the compatibility check in the Get it section to see if yours qualifies.

How do I install it?

Use the Add to Chrome button on this site. It takes you to the Chrome Web Store listing so you can add BetterMail in one click.
